Busta Rhymes shows off amazing body transformation

Busta Rhymes has showcased his amazing body transformation after losing a whopping 100 pounds. The rapper, 51, adopted an intense workout regime after being given a deadly warning by doctors, who told him that if he didn’t have life-changing surgery, he could die. Busta, real name Trevor George Smith Jr., overhauled his lifestyle and revealed the results with Men’s Health.

The Gimme Some More hitmaker said in a video posted on the Men’s Health Facebook page that he lost the weight in just 12 months, and has shaved years off his appearance too. Fans were gobsmacked by the before and after clip, which has been viewed almost 10 million times, and Busta revealed the details of his tough regime.

In just one day of training, he does straight arm pulldowns, machine pullovers, bench presses, knee raises, machine ab rollers, incline cable fly, machine chest press, standing dumbbell curls, triceps press down and dumbbell hammer curls.

The rapper thanked his training team for getting him back into shape, and his fans were full of support in the comments. “Goooo Busta so proud of you well done,” one wrote. “I love this for him. He looks amazing,” another added.

Earlier this year, Busta spoke to Men’s Health about how he was forced to transform his life after his health deteriorated following the tragic death of his father in 2014. He told the magazine the reason behind the weight gain “had to do with me never properly dealing with the loss of my father.”

“I just kept drinking, smoking, eating bad – the whole nasty – and recording a bunch of songs just to escape the pain,” he explained. “I also had a 90 percent blockage in my throat because of polyps on my vocal cords, and my breathing was bad.”

The rapper finally decided to take control of his life during a romantic night with his ex-partner, as he was left with a “breathing issue” after they had sex. Despite fears over the surgery on the polyps, he was determined to take action and get his life back on track.

“I ran from the surgery as long as I could, but after that weekend I saw the doctor and he looked at my throat and he said I could die in my sleep. That’s when I got surgery and started to get back in shape,” Busta shared.
