DJ Sbu reacts to Mofaya ownership controversy

DJ Sbu reacts to the controversy built around the ownership of the Mofaya brand after Miss SA announced it as her official sponsor.

The businessman was excited about the deal; he said: “Ignite your mind with complex possibilities, an iconic institution like Miss South Africa. Miss South Africa 2023 has officially partnered with Mofaya. I am very humbled and I hope you guys are inspired by our journey we’re looking forward to seeing our young girls go for their dreams. We’ll like to thank Mofaya.”

However, some social media users claim he doesn’t own the brand.

Responding to the claims, Sbu said: “I’d like to confirm and say you are correct. It isn’t mine because Mofaya is yours. I’m OK and you can just call me a brand ambassador, you can call me a hustler, you can call me an entrepreneur. Ultimately, language is man-made. I’m just proud of the team at Mofaya.”

“All the co-founders, those who are still part of it, those who are not anymore. The team working on the ground, the people selling it every day, the people that buy it. It’s been a form of inspiration to the entrepreneurship culture in South Africa for people to pursue, for people to believe in their dreams and pursue their dreams relentlessly. I’m proud to have been part of this journey, of seeing that tide turn slowly.”

Kim Kardashian had a breakdown over the behavior of her ex-husband, Kanye West, on the July 6 episode of The Kardashians. The episode was filmed in October 2022 after Kanye was dropped from his partnerships with Adidas and other brands due to making horrific, public, antisemitic comments. Kim met up with Khloe and broke down in tears over the situation. “It sucks when someone doesn’t see how different they are,” she admitted. “You always hope you see a glimpse of [that person], and I hope I do.”

Kim told her sister that she couldn’t “get it together” for a meeting that she was already an hour late for. “I feel so bad for him,” Kim admitted. “I don’t even know if he feels bad for himself. I don’t know if he knows how. But I feel so bad.” Khloe described Kanye’s behavior as “watching a car crash in slow motion,” because she and the rest of the family were “helpless” to do anything. Kim added, “It’s confusing to me. [He’s] so different than the person I married. That’s who I loved and who I remember and I’ll do anything to get that person back.” Read More
