Reason why you must stop consuming cornflakes every morning

According to new research conducted by Dr Frank Hu of Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, there is a high amount of sugar and salt in cornflakes which can cause high blood pressure and inflammation in the body along with diabetes and fatty liver, and obesity.

However, we all know that today’s run-of-the-mill lifestyle has the biggest effect on our food.

Cornflakes for breakfast

To make cornflakes more healthy for breakfast, most people add strawberries, mixed fruits, almonds and organic honey to it. These days, one can find muesli in the comfort of their home and it is also loaded with sugar. It is said that cornflakes are made only from maize flour, but you will be surprised to know that it can prove to be very harmful to health.

Risk of lifestyle diseases
Studies reveal that cornflakes do not contain as much nutrition as our body needs. It also contains less fibre and this is why we feel hungry quickly. It is very important to consume fibre in our body as that helps in maintaining our gut health.

Not good for diabetes
According to Dr. Frank Hu, sugar and salt in cornflakes cause high blood pressure and inflammation, diabetes and fatty liver, and obesity. Due to this, there is a risk of heart attack and stroke. Cornflakes are made from toasting flakes of corn. Cornflakes are packaged food that people often eat with milk and sugar. Eating cornflakes increases the risk of diabetes as it has a high GI of about 93, which is not at all good for diabetes.
