Woman dies in hospital after Walkerburn flood water rescue

A woman has died in hospital after being rescued from flood waters in the Borders. Police Scotland was called out to an incident in Walkerburn at about 00:20 on 31 December.

It said that two women were rescued from the water by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

A statement added one of the women, aged 55, died in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh on Monday. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.
