South Africa – The funeral of rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes will not be live-streamed or televised. This as the family of the late rapper asked for privacy to bid him farewell.
AKA was shot and killed outside a restaurant on Florida Road in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, last Friday, and will be buried by his family and close friends today.
Even though there have been videos online of the procession to the cemetery, the funeral will not be aired.
The Fela in Versace hitmaker’s death, alongside his friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane, has touched the hearts of many people and left them saddened.
Yesterday, his fans and colleagues had a chance to celebrate his life at his memorial service at the Sandton Convention Centre. And, fans have continued to celebrate him on social media platforms.
Mamruss said she was touched by his death and wished that he continued to rest well.
Then King said: “He is really gone. Go well, Mega.”
Brown Naidoo said: “Where is this? I’ve been switching between news channels and can’t see anything.”
Bridgette added that she could still not believe that he was really gone.
