Thabo Bester and his lover Dr Nandipha Magudumana meet for the first time since their arrest in Tanzania.
Magudumana’s lawyer claims his client was inhumanly transported from Kroonstad prison this morning to the court. She was allegedly handcuffed and placed in the back of a police van where she was unable to hold on when the van driver applied brakes.
“She was allover in the back of the van,” he said.
Bester claims he has been “inhumanely treated” and is spending 23 hours a day handcuffed in his cell. This is according to his lawyer.
Bester’s lawyer claims there is an extensive list of items that the accused had in his possession when he was arrested in Tanzania which are now “missing”.
These items are worth millions, including two Rolex watches valued at R2.6 million each, a marriage ring to the value of R350 000, several laptops, a Burberry cup holder worth R15 000, 500 000 Euros, 1.4 million in Zambian currency, $36 000 and R295 000, among other items.
