Paris Saint-Germain have announced that Kylian Mbappé is set to miss three weeks of action, meaning that he will miss the club’s Champions League clash against Bayern Munich, which takes place in just 12 days time.
Mbappé suffered the thigh injury during Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Montpellier. The Frenchman was seen hobbling through the mixed zone after the match. Following further medical tests, the severity of the injury has been ascertained, and it is ultimately an injury that will put pay to Mbappé’s participation in the Champions League tie against Bayern Munich, the first leg of which takes place on February 14th.
Should Mbappé miss three weeks’ worth of action – as expected – he will also miss the Coupe de France clash against Olympique de Marseille, as well as crucial Ligue 1 ties against AS Monaco and Lille OSC. PSG face Marseille again in the league on February 26th, although by that time, the Monaco academy graduate may have made his return.
