PUMA released their first campaign with global pop star Dua Lipa
Sports company PUMA released their first campaign with global pop star Dua Lipa shot by fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti. Dua Lipa wears the latest sneaker, Mayze, a PUMA design, with a bold and edgy look in mind. The pop star is the latest celebrity face of Puma, starring in the campaign for the new Mayze Sneaker collection, which launched on Friday.
Lipa signed a multi-year deal with PUMA in November of 2020 becoming a brand ambassador for women’s business. Now, she is the face for their newest Mayze sneaker which serves as her very first campaign with the PUMA brand.
Lipa wears head-to-toe Puma in the backstage-themed campaign images, shot by fashion photographer Mario Sorrenti. The Mayze style, which retails for $90 and comes in five different color combinations, is a classic Puma design with an edgy spin, thanks to the creeper-inspired, ridged platform sole.
The Mayze is made for those who embrace the spotlight, on stage and off. In the campaign Lipa is captured in a backstage set up in a show-stopping look featuring a layered PUMA T7 track jacket with bikini top and fishnets, and later on the way to an on-stage moment in a vintage PUMA windbreaker over a PUMA dress and zebra tights. Each look speaks to Dua’s styling vision and versatility of the Mayze sneaker.
“The Mayze is the perfect fit, it works for me on stage and off. The classic stacked sole is so versatile, I can work it into any look,” says Lipa in the press release as she joins a long list of inspiring female brand ambassadors for Puma.
PUMA brand
PUMA was designed to be more durable than any other sneaker on the market. In 1968, the PUMA Suede became a historically popular sneaker in Black culture during the summer games in Mexico City. Additionally, PUMA became a staple in rap culture and break dancing in the 1980s. Serving as a fashionable shoe in the New York streets, it was hard to miss the sneaker’s signature thick laces and flexible sole.
