Douglas Ross to resign as leader of Scottish Conservatives

Douglas Ross has announced he will resign as leader of the Scottish Conservatives. He will carry on in the role until after the election. He will also resign as an MSP if he is re-elected to Westminster.

It comes after he faced allegations that he used Westminster expenses to travel in his role as a football linesman.

There is also an ongoing row over the decision to, in effect, de-select Conservative candidate David Duguid.
