Here’s why Manchester United VS Leeds United is not TV

Manchester United host Leeds United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Wednesday evening, with the game kicking off at 20:00 GMT.

It’s our first meeting with the Yorkshiremen for almost a year, as the original date of the fixture – Sunday 18 September – had to be moved in the aftermath of The Queen’s death.

Our visit to Elland Road happens to take place this Sunday, resulting in an extremely rare Premier League double-header for Erik ten Hag and his side.

But while the away game (kick-off 14:00 GMT) is being shown live on Sky Sports, the clash in M16 won’t be broadcast to viewers in the UK.

That’s because the original fixture, back in September, wasn’t chosen for broadcast in the UK and rearranged games must stick to the original scheduling.

It was moved to the Sunday originally only due to our participation in the Europa League group stages. Games in that competition are played on Thursday evenings.

United beat Sheriff Tiraspol 2-0 in Moldova on 15 September, in a game that still went ahead despite the disruption to our domestic campaign.

COVERAGE OF UNITED v LEEDS

MUTV will still be broadcasting our regular Matchday Live show, with coverage set to begin at 18:55 GMT.

We will also provide radio commentary throughout the game. That, along with updates and our exclusive Match Centre, displaying a range of in-depth stats, will all be available to access via the United App.

You can watch two-minute highlights of the game from midnight, with extended versions following soon after.
