Jack Whitehall has given fans a first look at his newborn baby daughter after girlfriend Roxy Horner gave birth on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old comedian – who is famous for his father and son television show Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father – looked absolutely besotted with his baby girl. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday evening, the new dad shared a photo of himself cradling his baby girl.
He also shared a photo of himself smiling enthusiastically while sat beside 32-year-old model Roxy while she held her baby girl in her hospital bed. Jack even managed to coordinate the colour of his jumper with the hospital bedsheets that Roxy was wrapped up in.
Sharing the snaps with his fans, Jack penned a touching message about his daughter. He wrote: “Well this just happened! Utterly overwhelming and joyous in ways I couldn’t have even imagined. In awe of my partner @roxyhorner who has been amazing throughout this journey and is going to be the greatest mum ever.”
He continued: “So excited to have started a family of my own. Having vowed I’d never be that guy I am now 100% going to be the parent that shows everyone endless pictures of their kid. I also wore skechers to hospital, I think I must accept I am a full blown dad now.”
While Jack and Roxy have not yet revealed the name of their daughter, Jack teased that he might name his girl after Arsenal footballer Declan Rice who scored for the team in a match against Manchester United on Sunday. Jack wrote: “Name wise after this weekend I think ‘rice, rice, baby’ has a nice ring to it.”
Jack’s Instagram post was met with a wall of support from fans with many rushing to share warm wishes with the star. One fan wrote in the comments section of his post: “Congratulations to you both” while another declared: “Awww amazing! Huge congratulations.”
Others suggested the new arrival could provide Jack with a lifetime of material, with one commenting: “Can’t wait for all the embarassing things you’ll be saying in stand-up in the years to come.” Indeed, Jack is famous for including family members in his material – dragging his own father, Michael, into the spotlight via his hugely popular ‘Travels With My Father’ Netflix show.
The photos shared by Jack come just a couple of hours after news broke that he and Roxy had become parents. Photographers captured the pair leaving a private hospital in London on Tuesday evening with their daughter being carried in a car seat.
The couple had been excitedly counting down to the arrival of their daughter – first revealing they were expecting a girl during an appearance on Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch back in June. Roxy declared on air: “We are having a little girl. We have thought of some names but I feel like there are none that are really sticking out.”
When asked by host Steph McGovern if she was nervous, the model mused: “Weirdly no, maybe I should be? I am just very excited. I have always wanted a baby and a family so it’s always been on the cards.”
