Palworld continues to prove itself a Game Pass hit

Palworld continues to prove itself a Game Pass hit. The game has now been played by over seven million players on Xbox and is confirmed as the biggest third-party Game Pass launch ever. Palworld, a game which mashes together creature-collecting, exploration, survival, and more, continues to see huge success, despite still being in Game Preview.

It’s been smashing sales milestones, picking up huge numbers of players, and, just this week, dethroned Fortnite to become No 1 in our latest gameplay chart of popular Xbox games. Now, the Xbox team has confirmed a new record: Palworld has been played by over seven million Xbox players and is the biggest third-party Game Pass launch yet. What’s more, it “recently reached a peak of nearly 3 million daily active users on Xbox.”

To put that into context, the game isn’t even two weeks old yet — but it actually managed this feat even earlier. “In its first ten days as part of Xbox Game Preview, Xbox players have made it the biggest 3rd party Game Pass launch in history,” the Xbox Wire post tells us. “You’ve also helped Palworld to become the most-played 3rd party day one launch on Xbox Cloud Gaming with Game Pass Ultimate.

Palworld still has a lot to come. Pocket Pair already shared a roadmap outlining new Pals, raid bosses, and more, and the Xbox Wire post confirms that the devs are also working on cross-play. What’s more, Xbox is helping Palworld with dedicated servers and performance improvements.

We’ve still got all the other upcoming Game Pass games to look forward to as well. Plus, while Palworld is the biggest third-party Game Pass launch ever, we also have all the Xbox exclusives for 2024 and beyond on the way too.
